I recently listed my condo for sale with Mark. Prior to listing, we met to go through a helpful analysis of the current market and he gave me a detailed and comprehensive approach to the listing and sale process.

I have known Mark for more than 30 years, and have always found him to
be professional, friendly and extremely competent. I have been working
somewhat loosely with him over the last two years as I contemplated
selling my current home and buying something smaller.
Things came to a head very suddenly in the second week of January when,
through Mark, I made an offer on a condominium. He walked me through
all the negotiations and paperwork, leading to a most satisfactory outcome.
However, that meant that I had to really scramble to get my house ready
to be listed as soon as possible. I had three weeks before it was going on
the market. At this point Mark truly went far above and beyond what any

for a container to store my goods and furnishings in, he arranged for very

On November 25, 2021, my mother moved into a retirement residence in Georgetown. She is 93 and had lived in the family home on Hurontario Street in Brampton (Snelgrove) since 1953. I engaged Mark Douglas of RE/MAX to list the property although at that time I did not know Mark. He had been recommended by my sister-in-law Ruth who retained Mark to sell her mother's house and was quite happy with his efforts. Mark had done an extensive evaluation of my mother's property in February 2021 at his own expense and with no expectation of being the listing agent for any future sale.
After my mother moved, our family spent the next several days clearing out the house and preparing it for sale. The house was listed on the MLS and in just two days there were over 30 showings, all facilitated by Mark. With ten offers and after negotiations, an offer was accepted which was considerably higher than the asking price. I want to emphasize that Mark had provided considerable guidance during this process. However, his efforts did not end there.
I am not a tech-savvy person and Mark was able to walk me through the various legal documents online. He was also able to retain a lawyer to facilitate our side of the sale. When it came time for my mother to sign the final documents Mark was able to set up a virtual meeting at my mother's retirement residence and meet with us to ensure all technology was working and we understood how to sign the documents online.
With a 3-week closing date during the Christmas holidays, Mark followed up on every matter from beginning to end including making sure the buyer's lawyer was making contact with our lawyer. When Mark found out just a week before closing they hadn't retained a lawyer yet. Mark was able to get the other side moving on their end. Just days prior to closing, the buyer requested a new closing date several weeks away which was rejected. On the closing day, the buyer made another request for an extension due to the funds not being available. We agreed to such and by 5:30pm the next day the sale was complete.
Through all of this Mark maintained contact with me constantly by email, text messages, and phone calls. He also maintained contact with our lawyer as well as people on the buyer's side. I was thoroughly impressed with his ability to navigate the sale of my mother's house and I would have no hesitation in recommending Mark to anyone wishing to sell their property. Thank you.

Little did I know, when we received a calendar at our door, that we'd be selling our home three years later. This was Mark's introduction to my husband and I. On receiving that calendar, I emailed Mark to state that we weren't ready to sell but would be considering in the future. Mark stayed in touch with emails about the current market, hints on how to prepare for sale, and the like.
The time came to sell. We invited Mark to come over. I had mentioned that we would also be talking to other realtors. Mark provided a comparative market analysis, an outline of what to expect when selling with him, area homes that had recently sold and ones currently for sale. Being a full-time realtor, he devotes his time and energy full-heartedly into his business.

Mark worked so hard for us. Following our meeting, he began planning. He arranged stagers, a painter and a photographer. The stagers were efficient and prepared a lengthy list of the changes (additions and removals) that needed doing to give our home an updated and 'airy' look.
He continued on with preparations. Mark did so much to help us out. He caulked around doors, painted pot light housings, revived our Jacuzzi tub, hung new light fixtures and even brought over his son to move much of the heavy furniture to the garage!
A fabulous virtual tour was created and went up with the listing. We sold the next day, much above the asking price. We were thrilled!
